When it comes to creating a music account to reflect your tastes, it’s important to put together multiple playlists that reflect a range of emotions as well as musical genres. If we’re being honest, one of those playlists focuses on sexy songs. You know, the kind of songs that puts you in a frisky mood.
We’ve been continuously increasing our “sexy playlist” for years. Now, we’ve gone through it to pull out the best sex songs to inspire your next after-hours rendezvous.
1. Pony – Ginuwine
This list is in no particular order, but if it were, “Pony” would still be in the top spot. As soon as that beat drops, you know exactly what’s going down. Ginuwine wastes absolutely no words in getting to the point. He knows just as well as you do that it’s time. If you’ve ever seen this performed live, then you’ll still understand how much sexual energy this song radiates decades later.

2. How Can I Love U 2Nite – Sisqo
Not only are there moans and talk of physical intimacy, but there’s also something you wouldn’t know about the song unless you put on headphones. While Sisqo is singing, a member of his other music group is speaking the lyrics in a deep, sensual voice underneath. You can hear Nokio without headphones later during a bridge, doing the same thing. Sisqo is conflicted, but Nokio certainly isn’t, at least not according to his voice.
3. Red Light Special – TLC
The 90s sounds ease you into a moment at the first chord. T-Boz starts us off nice and slow, explaining she’s ready for something special. Maybe even a red light type of special. The ladies are singing about direct communication and taking a more prominent role in lovemaking. A little back and forth between partners goes a long way.
4. Drunk in Love – Beyoncé Ft. Jay-Z
Before any type of scandal descended upon this power couple, there was a loud and proud invite to their private time together. Seeing a healthy couple have public displays of affection is the kind of thing that can put you in a sexy mood yourself. That’s especially the case in this song due to the explicit detail of having nights so wild they wake up not knowing how they got there.

5. Yeah! – Usher feat. Lil Jon and Ludacris
Usher was one of the first to have this particular beat that bounces right into your ear during the first second of the song. The year was 2004 and Usher was on top. He got together with two other huge names of the time to mold a banging song that gets people to the dance floor and bedroom. This is still the case some decades later.
6. Dirrty – Christina Aguilera feat. Redman
Christina’s effort to break away from her bubble gum past led to the introduction of the 2003 hit album Stripped. The signature song was one that got you moving and thinking about intimate things. If you watched the music video, it was more of an actual dirty vibe, as she was in the boxing ring after having rolled in the mud. Despite the attire, Christina Aguilera was not there to play.

7. Doin’ It – LL Cool J
Like other male artists on the list, LL got right to the point. No doubt, he was ready to get to it and had all the plans in hand. If you had any doubts, the chorus repeats the title a multitude of times.
When the duo performed the song live at the MTV Music Video Awards in 1995, the audience was left gobsmacked. Their voices were so shaky that if you didn’t know better, you might have thought they were about to be doing it on stage.
8. What’s Your Fantasy – Ludacris
Ludacris puts together a plethora of ways he’d like to get physical. The song is a list of fantasies spread across almost four and a half minutes. They are wild and some lean towards the impossible, each with interesting mental images. In case you need clarification, he mentions himself in the third person. These are Luda’s fantasies.
9. Give It To You – Jordan Knight
This song begins with what sounds like a carnival and continues subtly throughout. It actually matches the video, which takes place in a similar scene. However, as jovial as it started, Jordan lets you know that’s not where this theme is staying.
The beat makes you want to move your body and the lyrics make you want to consider where. Jordan, like Christina, is trying to break free of his youthful image and sing about more mature subjects. We see you!
10. You’re Makin’ Me High – Toni Braxton
Toni’s sultry voice made her a focal point of hotness during the 90s. Here, she starts to share her private desires with the man she’s been dreaming about. From the tempo to the words, the very thought of these actions creates a whole evening of activity that will be talked about for a long time to come. If you aren’t ready to move to the other room while listening to this song, listen to it again.

11. Peaches & Cream – 112
There really isn’t a sweeter way to talk about getting freaky than calling the song Peaches & Cream. Know what we mean? Long before Justin Bieber sang about peaches, 112 entered 2001 with a hit that 90s kids would immediately start singing to. Of course, being in high school at the time may prevent you from understanding the song fully, but it was still a “hit with the kids” at the time regardless.
12. Rock The Boat – Aaliyah
Even though this was the last video Aaliyah would ever grace her presence on, it would be wrong to not treasure the song. Her gentle vibes explaining what she wants to do is what makes this a sexy song masterpiece. Even as we craft this list, we can’t help but dance to the rhythm. It remains just as fun to listen to now as it was when it came out decades ago.
13. You Sexy Thing – Hot Chocolate
The year was 1975 and the young generation was quite all over the place with their sexual habits. The beat is as funky and is the theme song of many men from then and now. These are men who just can’t believe they get to be with this stunning creature that is also into them. Many people can relate to being blown away by someone and that feeling can put anyone in the mood.
14. Closer – Nine Inch Nails
The back and forth nature of the beginning demands focus from the listener. This rock song about knowing someone in and out is graphic and intriguing. You want to keep it going and learn more about what’s going on in the lead singer’s plan. He gets into some savage thoughts and takes you on a journey with a pulsating beat.
15. Justify My Love – Madonna
I can remember like it was yesterday listening to the shocking track from Madonna’s The Immaculate Collection. I was a kid, I should not have been allowed, but I’m pretty sure it didn’t occur to my mother to listen to the album first. I listened to the song once and decided it was not for my ears. Mature decision. Because of that, my cheeks still get rosy listening to the lyrics and realizing I heard these inappropriate words at such a young age. Great for adults, though.
16. Let’s Get It On – Marvin Gaye
It would be an actual crime to not have this song on the best sexy songs list. Since the early 70s, this track has been the anthem of bedroom behavior. The number of people who have gotten it on to this song is probably staggering, but understandable. It’s all in the name and excellent sounds.
17. I’d Just Love To Lay You Down – Conway Twitty
In 1980, country music was at the forefront of pop culture and Conway Twitty was the man. In this song, he’s letting his lady know that he thinks she’s sexy. More importantly, he’s going to keep thinking that long after time has brought on things like gray hair. Conway is determined to keep laying her down as long as he physically can. If that’s not relationship goals, we don’t know what is.
18. Whatever You Like – T.I.
This is a love letter to women, something many would be enthusiastic to hear. We would know, it has been on our go-to list for years. He clearly isn’t just looking for a booty call, he’s looking for someone to share his life with. Lucky for T.I., this person is someone he is crazy attracted to. To prove it, he will give her any and everything she wants. The tightness between them is something he looks forward to, but it’s just the cherry on top.

19. Love To Love You Baby – Donna Summer
Is it just us or did the 70s produce the best sexy bangers? The album version of this song is actually almost 17 minutes long. There’s plenty of very realistic moaning that’s worked into the lyrics of a whispery singer. Eventually, you can start to visualize getting a bit freaky with this song playing in the background.
20. Partition – Beyoncé
No one can forget that nearly impossible-to-achieve silhouette moving all over a couch like it was a balance beam routine. If you haven’t watched the video for this mega-hit, you are missing out. As usual, Beyoncé creates a visual effect that will not be forgotten. As the music begins, you find out she’s so hot for this guy, they aren’t even going to make it anywhere. She has the driver close the partition so they can get to it.
21. Acquainted – The Weeknd
The sensual pulsating throughout “Acquainted” gets you moving before The Weeknd even gets to his plans. He’s actually putting the spotlight on a type of relationship that not everyone talks about but is becoming more and more common these days. It’s the casual relationship, the kind that has no expectation of becoming more. Because not everyone is ready for or needs a relationship.
22. I’ll Make Love To You – Boyz II Men
Boyz II Men were the soulful, grown men group of the 90s. The combination of their sweet voices singing about a wonderful night of passion and love in a physical form is enough to make any lady swoon. Of course, if you let your partner in on this treasure, they might anticipate similar treatment. This song is how every date night should end. Take notes.
23. Ride & Shake – Mya
The R&B sweetheart of the early 00s has a saucier sound in this exhibition of expectations. With a title like that, there’s no mistaking what her intentions are. Unlike the last entry, this is a quicker tempo because Mya doesn’t need to ease into it, she’s ready to get together. Starting today.
24. Liquid Dreams – O-Town
One of two O-Town hits is one that many young men can relate to. The guys are single and dreaming about what a perfect woman would be like. They take the features of a bunch of popular women of the day and piece together the star of their liquid dreams. If you get what we mean, we didn’t when we belted it out at 16. But we’re certainly happy to be understanding of the adult language now.
25. Buttons – The Pussycat Dolls feat. Snoop Dogg
These women are done with the flirting and innuendo coming from guys. There’s nothing more irritating than being with a big talker who won’t put it down when they say they will. So, in an effort to put their collective foot down, The Pussycat Dolls lay it all out on the line. This is going to happen or it isn’t. They even revert to reverse psychology. Not sure if it worked for them but you can make it work for you and your partner.
26. Into You – Ariana Grande
We think everyone has felt what Ariana is expressing here. There’s always someone you’ve been so obsessed with that you would do anything they asked you to just to have some scandalous times with them. Ariana is in it for the long haul and is looking forward to the moment when worlds collide and a move has been made. A lesson for listeners to be a little forward sometimes.
27. Bounce – Timbaland Ft. Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliott
All three artists use colorful language to describe what’s on their minds in this deep track from Timbaland’s Shock Value. This is also the most graphic we feel Justin Timberlake has ever been in his lyrics. This is the first time Missy Elliott is on the list, but it won’t be the last.
This is truly a group of people putting together a song that makes you want to hit the bedroom now, and if you’re listening intently to Mr. JT, you may want to try new things.
28. Want To Want Me – Jason Derulo
As someone who has lived in one part of the south or another my whole life, I felt this song in my soul. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had the displeasure of an overly warm night and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to cool down. That’s not really what Jason Derulo is doing, though. He can’t stand the heat but he gets himself into another type of heat, which might be a distraction we could all use.
29. Got To Get It – Sisqo
As Sisqo goes into a very detailed list of things he plans to accomplish during a night of physical togetherness, it’s almost impossible to not feel something. This song is especially appealing to the ladies listening. Not because it’s a guy with a six-pack singing it, but because of the aforementioned details. If you’re a dude and it’s not on your girl’s list, do the right thing and introduce this Sisqo selection to her.
30. Fantasy – Timbaland feat. Money
This may be on Timbaland’s album, but the voice for this song is a sensual female with some thoughts to share. Money is quite confident in her skills and she has no problem building up what the experience with her would be like. That’s honestly the type of conviction many people would like to have with their undercover tactics. If nothing else, the song is inspiring.
31. 2 Become 1 – Spice Girls
Another set of verses we realized was too mature for us when they came out was from the Spice Girls. They were women in their early 20s singing to that audience. That didn’t matter to us, we were obsessed with them and dreamed of being a junior Spice Girl. We obviously didn’t get to, but we definitely got the imagery behind the two becoming one as an adult. As well as the other statements.
32. Feel Like Making Love – Bad Company
Another ’75 hit about doing what comes naturally between two willing participants. This guy is singing to a woman he adores, which makes him want to be with her in an intimate fashion even more. We imagine a guy with a short beard, unbuttoned shirt, and jeans dancing across a room while singing this to his partner. How could you not be lovingly persuaded to take it to the bedroom after that?
33. Hot Boyz – Missy Elliott
If you needed a bouncy beat to get you moving with your partner, this is your song. Missy Elliott lets you know she equates attraction with material things. Your best bet at having a liaison with her would be if you had rubberband banks. She is after someone who can satisfy her both physically and with an abundance of resources.
34. Only – Nicki Minaj feat. Drake and Lil Wayne
There’s almost an eerie sound at the start of this rap track. We’re not really sure where it’s headed until Nicki starts spitting on the first verse. Once Drake and Lil Wayne share their rhymes, you realize what’s going on. These men are telling a story about what and how they would get with Nicki if they had the chance. Not surprised this was on her album.
35. I’m A Slave 4 U – Britney Spears
Yet another case of a singer who started out as a teen and wants you to stop looking at her like she’s a little girl. Britney was provocative and ready to hit the town in a new age. If you watched the video you will notice that she retained her meticulous and on-point dancing. That is still one of her talents many years later.
36. Can’t Get Enough of Your Love Babe – Barry White
Barry White, another artist that would be a sin to not have on the list. Barry took the sentiment of love to another level in the 70s. He’s a classic and his songs evoke a certain mood. This song, in particular, sings the praises of his partner in between deep-voiced speaking parts. If that wasn’t enough to get listeners wanting to find their partner, nothing was.
37. Pillowtalk – Zayn
Do we have to say it? Zayn was once a member of the most popular boyband of the 2010s and this was his breakout hit after going solo. Starting to see a pattern? The best way to let the world know you’re an adult is to sing about sex, apparently. Anyway, this is a raw one-on-one session that is so in the moment that Zayn could care less who hears or how long it goes on. He’s dedicated.
38. Hot In Herre – Nelly
This isn’t the first time someone on the list used temperatures as an excuse to get nude. However, Nelly was earlier, by comparison. There’s more to this track than just disrobing, he’s got a lot going on and is rapping about all kinds of things. The heart of the song, though, is that he’s with a woman who is equally motivated to cool off. Kind of.
39. Push It – Salt-N-Pepa
The late 80s was a time to push the envelope. Salt-N-Pepa did exactly that with this massive hit. While there are short verses, there are a lot of repetitive chorus lines and heavy breathing. It’s a great song to get intimate to because you can just get lost in the predictive beat while getting encouragement in-between moments.
40. Love In This Club – Usher
Usher is honest in his opening line, “I do it for the ladies.” We hear you and we feel you, Usher. Some of us would like to literally, but that’s a different story. We digress. We’ve seen Usher perform this tantalizing selection in person and it was worth every cent. Not only is his voice a gift from the universe, but so are his dance moves, provocative and otherwise. The lyrics also take a lot of people back to a time at the club when they were feeling someone in a major way. Top-notch material.
41. Afternoon Delight – Starland Vocal Band
40-Year-Old Virgin brought this song back to the limelight with the ending musical number including all the cast members dancing in a field. They were celebrating the main character’s post-wedding afternoon delights. This song has actually been inspiring these midday exchanges since 1976.
42. Oops (Oh My) – Tweet feat. Missy Elliott
Not every sexy song is in relation to a partner. Tweet isn’t the first to embrace self-love but she does so in such a way that you’re jealous of the appreciation she has for her own body. Everyone should be as attracted to themselves or at least have the ability to be grateful for what they see in the mirror. Tweet is so proud of what she sees that she has to have a long gander to take it all in. Who knows where it leads, but she leaves food for thought.
43. When The Lights Go Out – Five
Before an era of new boybands and pop stars was ushered in, there was Five. They didn’t need to grow up later, they were already grown.
I remember this song as being super catchy but, also, succumb was a vocab word in school. I was proud of myself for getting it and then feeling like I had tapped into some slick adult play on words. I am still proud of this fact decades later.
44. Bump, Bump, Bump – B2K feat. Diddy
B2K are four guys who are not afraid of vocalizing their appreciation for bootylicious bodies. A majority of what you remember about this song is the chorus, which appears about 105 times. It’s so catchy that even though it’s a bit excessive, you always go along with bump, bump, bump. Made by a master beat maker 20 years ago, it still has the right stuff.
45. Pour Some Sugar On Me – Def Leppard
This late 80s hit is about communication. Well, a sweet way of pleading with your sexual partner to do something different. Something perhaps that you’ve been thinking about but not sure how they would react. Perhaps a fantasy? Whatever you call it, you’d love it if they would oblige. Now we were blessed with a rocking ode to getting freaky.
46. Let’s Make Love – Faith Hill & Tim McGraw
What makes this song special is that it’s an actual married couple singing about what married people do; make love. When you know more about the two, and how they met and got engaged on the same tour, it’s a sweet reminder of what romantic, mature love looks like. It’s also what you hope for in your own relationship, having someone who wants you as much as you want them.
47. Wild Thing – The Troggs
The year was 1966. Life was groovy, as were the intimate partners. Bras were burning and the young adult generation was embracing open sexuality. No more were they like their parents, this was a time for experimentation. When this rock classic came on over the waves, it was enticing. Calling someone a wild thing was more than a title, it was hope for what was to come under the sheets.
48. WAP – Cardi B feat. Megan The Stallion
If we’re being candid, we were taken aback when we first heard this one. The imagery is intensely graphic but also creative. Maybe the song wouldn’t have grown such a following if it hadn’t had that consistent, tempting beat. Those extremely suggestive lyrics mixed with the guest and background compilation create an unforgettable step into the new generation of sexy songs.
49. My Neck, My Back – Khia
When this song came out 20 years ago, we had the same reaction as we did when WAP came out. It was so explicit, we were shocked someone made it. What she’s singing about, having a sexual partner focus on her needs specifically, wasn’t as common as it should have been. We couldn’t start to listen to it without finishing it. We were enthralled not entirely by what she was saying but that she had the gumption to say it.
50. All For You – Janet Jackson
Janet Jackson, Ms. Jackson if you’re nasty, is another woman taking a direct hit at what she wants from a partner. If this guy is man enough to step to her, she’s into it. She’s willing to open up both emotionally and physically to make this a thing. Funny enough, this song was made for the movie where she plays opposite Eddie Murphy, whose character is too shy to approach her for a date. It’s very light-hearted to listen to with a more after-hours meaning.
51. Goodies – Ciara feat. Petey Pablo
Another sex symbol is exuding her stance against the idea of being easy. She has standards, it’s not her problem that you’re feeling a certain way by what she’s doing or wearing. This is another aspect of seduction that not enough songs are written about; rejection. In our opinion, not enough men understand that not everything is a chase or a point for persuasion. At first thought, you may think this doesn’t fit the sexy songs definition, but what could be sexier than a woman who takes ownership of her goodies?
52. I Wanna Know – Joe
This is a slow grind type of song that we’re pretty sure was created to show off Joe’s amazing physique. These are real Stella’s Got Her Groove Back vibes with Joe in the shower. Let your mind go where it will with that one or go watch the video. “I Wanna Know” is another great example of a man saying exactly what a woman would love to hear. Basically, Joe is ready to learn every detail about his lady and what makes her tick.
53. Sexual Healing – Marvin Gaye
This is another hit that has long been on every best sex songs playlist. This is also another subject that isn’t acknowledged enough in the genre, the feel-good effects of a little one-on-one action. You don’t always have to be in a wonderful place to want to get it on. Sometimes it’s just exactly what you need to give you the endorphin rush that will last the day. Try it some time.
54. Need You Tonight – INXS
If we’ve learned anything from Hollywood, Australians are appealing. That extends to music in the form of INXS. A whisper starts this track and now you’re invested. This is a great example of saying a lot without saying anything at all. The lead singer is really just expressing that he wants some of that. That is you. Is it because he’s lonely or is he into you?
55. Cherry Pie – Warrant
Reading between the lines is what Warrant is expecting of you in this selection. Cherry Pie is full of symbolism as he equates love to his favorite dessert. He carries that metaphor throughout the song in different ways. This is showing his appreciation and lust for her. This can be easily carried over to a real-life scenario with your own honey.
